Flying Trapeze - Tricks & Catching

We recommend this class for first-time flyers.

Tricks & Catching classes start the same as all of our other classes, but end with a round or two (depending on class size) of catching, where everyone who is ready is given the opportunity to do their trick and then be caught and swing with one of our instructors. Students who are not ready to attempt the catch will continue to work on their trick, so they will still get the same amount of turns.

Flying Trapeze - Skill Development

Skill Development classes do not have catching. If a student masters their trick before the end of the 2-hour class, we will teach them a new trick. This is a great class for those who want to focus on perfecting a trickier skill that might not be ready for a catch.

All flying trapeze classes start with a quick warm up and a stretch, followed by our "ground school" lesson, where we teach you the trick you will do on a low practice bar. Then everyone is fitted with a safety harness, and the rest of the class is spent doing the flying trapeze.

Flying trapeze classes have a minimum of 3 students, and a maximum of 10.

Kids Aerial (Ages 6–12)

Kids aerial classes start with a warm-up and active stretch. Students will learn and practice aerial silks, and a combination of the aerial hoop, aerial straps, aerial rope, dance trapeze, and aerial sling. Which apparatuses are used in each class depends on the number of students and what they are most interested in. Aerial classes end with conditioning (strength exercises) and a stretch.

Aerial Arts (Ages 13+)

Aerial Arts is for students who would like to continue to learn skills on multiple aerial apparatuses, such as aerial silks (tissu), aerial hoop (lyra), static or dance trapeze, and corde lisse (aerial rope). Each class will include a warm-up, review of old skills, new skills, and practice of sequencing skills together. Duo trapeze classes teach partners to work together on one trapeze. Classes will include two styles: Partnering with a “base” (or “porter”) and a “flyer,” where one person supports the other person’s weight to learn swinging and other tricks; and partnering where both partners create similar, symmetrical shapes on the trapeze, generally supporting their own weights.

Please note that coming with a partner is required for this class.

Hoop Lab (Ages 18+)

Hoop lab is a class for students to learn hoop combinations, more complex poses, and dynamic tricks. All students in the class will be taught the same sequence or skill.

In order to attend this class, students should have at least one month of aerial experience, and must be able to invert and mount the hoop with the hoop at full height (overhead) unassisted.

Aerial Bungee (Ages 13+, or by instructor permission)

Aerial bungee is a fun apparatus where students wear a harness attached to bungee cords. Bounce high, and learn to flip forwards and backwards. Bungee is great for learning body awareness and building core stability.
