West Coast Flying Trapeze COVID-19 Safety Plan
(updated September 13, 2021)
Following the recent announcement, we have updated our COVID-19 policies to stay in line with Fraser Health’s current public health orders. We are committed to doing everything we can to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Please make sure to read through this entire document, as our protocols have changed.
All lessons have returned to full capacity.
Starting Monday, September 13, 2021, a vaccine card will be required to participate in many non-essential activities.
The exact wording of the order is as follows:
As we are a recreational exercise facility, we must abide by this new mandate to ensure we can continue to stay open.
This will affect our lessons in the following way:
- Session lessons for ages 3-11 will not be affected, as the mandate only applies to those ages 12+.
- Session lessons for ages 12-17 will not be affected, as “indoor youth recreational sport” is exempt.
- Any drop-in or all-ages lessons for any participant ages 18+ will be required to show a “vaccine card” as required by the PHO.
As more information becomes available from the health authorities, we will keep you updated on requirements as they affect attending WCFT. You can also find more information from the province directly at https://www2.gov.bc.ca/
For those who are required to show proof of vaccination, we will note your status on your MindBody profile so you do not need to show your vaccine card every time you attend a lesson. Masks will continue to be required at all times in our facility until you are on your mat / in your exercise zone.
This pandemic has created a constant string of challenges for everyone. We appreciate that many people do not agree with the decision to enforce vaccinations, but we are not here to debate vaccination status/policy/efficacy. We believe we are all able to make informed decisions with regards to our own bodies and our families and have nothing but respect for you and your decision either way. This is strictly a business decision, and we will continue to follow provincial guidelines to ensure the safest environment for our community. Our commitment to safety predates this pandemic and will continue long past it.
Masks are mandatory in public indoor settings for all people 12 and older in all common areas and may be removed when students are in their training zone.
We will be continuing with our current cleaning protocols, including wiping down mats and equipment after use. We will continue the disinfecting spray of the school at the end of each day.
Other Lesson Practices
The bin system for students’ belongings will remain in use. We still encourage hand-washing at the beginning and end of each lesson.
Spectators will still not be allowed in the facility at this time. Students should not arrive more than 10 minutes before class.
Our 24-hour cancellation policy will remain in effect. If you have any COVID-19 symptoms or have been out of the country within the past 14 days, please remain at home.
The COVID-19 screening form no longer needs to be completed prior to arriving.
If you have any other questions or concerns, please reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thanks for your continued support.
